Dream Of Poisonous Snakes At Work
Analyze my dream

This dream was about

I’m a retired police detective and in my dream , I was still on the job. I reported to work to a supervisor in a building that appeared to be a mall . The place was very large , with multiple levels and there were many people walking around. My supervisor told me that I had training in a few hours and someone would come to get me. In the meantime, he gave me four snakes to deliver to someone in another part of the building. He told me that the snakes were four of the most dangerous and poisonous snakes in the world. I was carrying the sbakes with in one hand. They were relaxed and didn’t seem to be dangerous. I stopped to talk to some colleagues that I didn’t know. I put the snakes on a chair and they all coiled up and appeared angry , like they were going to bite. I put them in a box because I didn’t want to carry them in my hands . One of the people I was with started to get close to the snakes and teasing them. I told the guy to get away because the snakes were poisonous . I warned him several times. He disregarded my warnings and was bitten on the lip by one of the snakes. I told him we have to get you to the hospital immediately. You’re going to die. His lip started swelling and he passed out on the floor. I tried to call 911 for an ambulance. But , my phone wouldn’t work. I told someone else to call 911 and we were getting set to carry the guy out of the building. One of the people with me was a uniformed police officer. He said we don’t have time to get him to the hospital. He started pushing on the man’s stomach and he vomited , splashing several heavy people. The man started to look like he was going to recover. I looked back to where the snakes were and they were crushed and bloody from all the commotion. They were all dead except for one. At this time another supervisor came to get me for training. I told him I had a huge mess here and would be there for training after I filed the report . He got mad and left. That’s when I woke up.

Larry, your dream is a vivid and symbolic reflection of your past experiences and current state of mind. The setting of the dream in a mall, a place characterized by its vastness and bustling activity, suggests a feeling of being overwhelmed by the multitude of tasks and responsibilities that you still carry with you even in retirement. Reporting to a supervisor indicates a lingering sense of duty and accountability, perhaps implying that even though you are no longer on the job, you still feel the weight of your past responsibilities. The four snakes you were tasked to deliver symbolize dangerous and pressing issues that you are aware of and are responsible for managing. The fact that you were carrying them in one hand without any immediate danger suggests that you are confident in your ability to handle these challenges, even though they are potentially very harmful. When the snakes become angry and you place them in a box, this could signify your attempt to contain or control these issues to prevent them from causing harm. The incident with your colleague who disregarded your warnings and got bitten illustrates a scenario where others do not heed your experienced advice, leading to serious consequences. This may reflect feelings of frustration or helplessness when others do not listen to your counsel, resulting in preventable problems. The malfunctioning phone and the struggle to get help symbolize communication barriers and the urgency of addressing critical issues without the necessary tools or support. The intervention by the uniformed officer and the subsequent recovery of the bitten man could indicate that sometimes unconventional methods or direct actions are required to resolve crises, even when traditional means fail. The bloody and crushed snakes, except for one, may represent the aftermath of dealing with these dangerous issues—some are resolved, but others may still linger, requiring further attention. Finally, the arrival of the new supervisor for training and your need to file a report before attending signifies the ongoing conflict between moving forward with new tasks and duties while still having unresolved issues from the past. The supervisor's anger and departure might reflect the pressure and expectations placed upon you, and your own struggle to balance past responsibilities with new ones. This dream encapsulates themes of responsibility, control, frustration, and the complexity of managing old and new challenges. It's a profound insight into your subconscious, Larry, and highlights the need to address unresolved issues while finding ways to move forward.
