Dream About Not Fitting In And Being Ignored By Father

Again, in my hometown, there's some kind of summer event going on that attracts many people that grew up there. There are many of the people I went to school with. I feel like I'm not fitting in, like no one would care if I wasn't there, but I'm involved with some function of the event, but no one cares. Later I'm hanging out with a few kids much younger than me. I recognize that it's pathetic that these kids are the only ones who are hanging out with me. I need to pick up a five gallon bucket of glue that I ordered from the bar. I can't pay the owner at the time, so I secretly take it with me, with intention of paying for it later, but needed it now. I go to my parents house, notice a couple of my belongings on a chair. I learn my father had went through a box of my belongings and threw away most of the contents without my concent, saving only a couple of meaningless items for me. I am irate with him, he doesn't care.and thinks he was right and had every right to throw away my stuff, because it was in his house. I'm yelling, trying to get someone to understand and side with me, but for some reason they all side with dad, and berate me for being upset for no reason. No matter how many times I explain how crazy they are all acting, because no one in their right mind would think that he's right. I even point out how bad of a person he is, how he lies cheats and steals, but everyone is acting like I'm crazy and overreacting about nothing and I should love my dad and apologies to him. All while he's just sitting there , smug, acting like he's right. I start to wonder if maybe I'm not right and maybe I am acting crazy, but I can't believe that. Then I wake.

Hey Jeff! Thank you for sharing your dream with me. It sounds like a complex and emotionally charged experience. The dream takes place in your hometown during a summer event where many familiar faces from your school days are present. You express feelings of not fitting in and perceiving that nobody would care if you weren't there. This may reflect underlying insecurities or a sense of disconnection in your waking life, possibly related to past experiences or current social dynamics. The dream also highlights your involvement in some function of the event, yet you feel disregarded by others. This could symbolize a desire for recognition and validation in your personal or professional endeavors. Hanging out with younger kids and feeling pathetic about it might suggest a longing for companionship or a fear of being left behind. The scene with the five-gallon bucket of glue represents a need for something essential but not being able to obtain it conventionally. It could symbolize a resource or support that you require but feel unable to access freely. The encounter at your parents' house reveals a conflict with your father over boundaries and personal belongings. This may mirror unresolved issues or power struggles within your family dynamic. Considering your previous dreams, such as the one in high school where you felt torn between work and meeting your crush, and the frustration of not being heard during a big gathering, it seems there is a recurring theme of seeking validation, connection, and a sense of belonging. Overall, this dream suggests that you may be grappling with feelings of insecurity, disconnect, and a struggle for recognition and understanding. It's important to explore these emotions further and consider how they relate to your current circumstances and relationships. Remember, dreams provide valuable insights into our subconscious thoughts and emotions, and by delving into them, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and potentially address any underlying concerns.
