02-23-26 Time slept: 6hours
Last night’s dream felt like a survival game. There was a creature, black and grey, shaped like a crying person. Its limbs stretched out in spiderlike strands coated in slime, with strange bubbles clinging to it. If it caught you in its direction, you would freeze, and the bubbles would wrap around you and slowly drip thick goo down over your body. I never found out what happened if it fully covered someone because I never let it get that far. The only way to break free was through a sternum rub, something sharp and painful enough to shock you awake, and if no one intervened you were done. Sometimes I was running for myself and other times I had to pull other people out, always careful not to hurt them more than necessary. The setting was a windowless house with no doors and the layout kept shifting so there was no fixed map and no predictable corners. The unpredictability was what made it the most unsettling because you never knew when you would turn and see it. At one point it caught me and the bubbles wrapped around me and the dripping started and no one was there to wake me up. Right before it could fully cover me I woke up. It was not the most vivid dream I have had but it stayed with me because of the constant tension and the feeling of always having to move and always having to calculate. Unpredictability is always the scariest part.
