Dream About Beach Town With Strange People

pages.dreamInterpretation.thisDreamWasAbout

My dream took place in a beach town where there were two distinct cultures that lived there with two different languages spoken. I went there with my partner. He took me and my two boys with him but I also had a job possibly a temporary one at a school. He left for work and I stayed at the hotel with the boys. The cleaning staff looked at me funny as if they didn’t like me and/or their job. Then a young woman in her twenties knocked on my door. I opened it and she had straight brown hair to her shoulders and was pretty. She was wearing a nightgown. I thought she was a guest. I let her in and she was upset about something but wouldn’t speak. She was looking at me and looking around the room as if to check me and the boys out. She handed me a small bag of ultramarine blue shells with mother of pearl underside. They were the most beautiful and brilliant color shells I have ever seen. Most unusual, I thought. I looked at her wondering why she had given these to me. Then, she smiled with a curious grin and walked out. I was wondering still about the shells and went into town to walk around. The people there were odd. Everyone kept staring at me as I passed them by as if I didn’t belong there. I felt like they were wondering how I got there to the town as if it was a secret place reserved for only a few. I felt uncomfortable there and wanted to go back to the hotel but something caught my eye a the storefront. The shells again! They were being sold at this shop because the town was known for these rare shells. A crowd started building up behind me and there were these men with unusual gray eyes, silver almost. They had blank stares and were looking at me as if I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I felt nervous and went back to the hotel. I was wondering where my partner was and why it was taking him so long so to come back. So, I decided to go to the school where I worked with a woman I was supposed to know. In the building we went to an office. There were two lines forming that led to a desk. Apparently it was the school principal’s birthday and people wanted to give him a present. I didn’t have one. I waited with the woman at the back of the room. He staired at me with those weird eyes. He was a tall old-fashioned looking guy in his late fifties with small black rimmed glasses. He wore a light gray suit and his hair was black, slicked down on his head. I wanted to leave and the woman said, we could go, there was no school today. I drove back in this weird beige color compact, toylike car. I was afraid of damaging it driving down these very rocky hills and then the car turned into a small robotic dog. It ran down the hill and started barking at another dog that was fenced in at the bottom. I was asking the locals for help but nobody paid attention to me as if I was invisible. I tapped a woman on the shoulder and she looked at me with those same weird eyes. At this point, I was fed up with this hostile place. I was irritated at everyone there and found my way back to the hotel. Just then my partner walked through the door. He had a tan and gave me a handful of the same shells but with sand in them. I asked him where he got them but he didn’t respond. He had an arrogant look about him. I kept trying to talk to him but no response. He seemed very stern and unkind. I asked him if he was at the beach. No response. But somehow as if a movie played before me, I saw him and the woman at the beach together having fun and laughing. Now when I looked at him his tan was darker as if he spent a week in the sun to get a tan. He also grew taller to about six feet and was slimmer and looked younger. He’s really short and heavy set and older than me. Then the woman appeared at the hotel laughing and went towards him with familiarity although he was still serious. He was behaving rudely towards me. It seemed to me he was playing a role before with me and now this was his authentic self that he didn’t hide anymore. Everyone in the town loved him as he walked out the door people greeted him and were very friendly towards him. One of my boys or both asked to go with my partner and it upset me. It made me sad and protective as I tried to convince him not to go, but he wanted to go. So I let him. I was left feeling angry about my partner’s behavior and deception and that my children wanting to be with him.

NR, your dream unfolds in a beach town that serves as a backdrop of contrasts and cultural divides, symbolizing inner conflicts or transitions you might be experiencing. The presence of two distinct cultures and languages suggests a feeling of being caught between different worlds or aspects of yourself, perhaps related to your personal or professional life. Your journey with your partner and two boys could be a representation of your family dynamics and the roles you play within it. The fact that you have a potential job at a school hints at your responsibilities and the need for balance between work and personal life. The interaction with the cleaning staff and their unfriendly demeanor might symbolize feelings of being judged or misunderstood, possibly reflecting your concern about how others perceive you. The young woman in a nightgown, who appears unexpectedly, could represent a part of yourself or an external influence that is both intriguing and unsettling. Her gift of ultramarine blue shells with a mother of pearl underside is rich with symbolism; these shells might represent hidden beauty or truths that are being offered to you, though their purpose remains unclear. As you venture into town, the sensation of being an outsider suggests feelings of alienation or insecurity in your current environment or situation. The town's fixation on the rare shells, coupled with the unsettling silver-eyed men, can be interpreted as a reflection of your quest for understanding and acceptance in a place or situation that seems both alluring and hostile. The shells appearing in the storefront emphasize their importance as a symbol, possibly representing something you value or seek. Your partner's absence and the subsequent events at the school highlight a search for recognition and belonging. The principal's birthday and your lack of a gift may mirror feelings of inadequacy or being unprepared in certain areas of your life. The transformation of your car into a robotic dog symbolizes a shift in perception or the need for adaptability. This metamorphosis might suggest a desire for companionship or loyalty, even in uncertain circumstances. The final act of your dream, where your partner returns with the shells and exhibits a changed persona, brings to light themes of deception and trust. His transformation and the town's adoration contrast sharply with your feelings of betrayal, suggesting a conflict between public perception and private reality. Your children's desire to leave with him underscores feelings of vulnerability and protectiveness, highlighting emotional strains and the need to reconcile these relationships. Overall, your dream reflects a complex interplay of identity, relationships, and self-discovery.
