This dream was about

So, I just woke up from a multi-part dream. One of the parts, I was in what seemed like high school again, or some kind of school and maybe a college, and my friends and I were wandering around the campus, and we were getting into all the authentic spaces. We were going into the back rooms, we were going into the basement, and just generally exploring, and we found one area that was really disturbing. There were all these masks and jumpsuits, and they were all bloody and fucked up, and while we were there, we heard a noise coming from behind us, and there was probably three or four of us, there must have been four of us, and one of the guys, one of the younger guys, jumped, wait a minute, jumped into one of the doorways that had this big metal submarine door on it, and before any of us could do anything, the door shut, and he was locked in there, and then we heard a bunch of very disturbing noises, and we realized when there was blood coming out from the bottom of the door that he probably did not make it. So we got out of there, and we were making a plan to go back for the body when the guy found us, the guy with all the masks and stuff had found us, and so we scattered out there. Fast forward, it's years later, I'm now living in a converted garage in my dream. The garage door is completely open, the large front one, and all that's there is a mosquito net that has magnets that make it come together. my bed in my dream was very, very high up, almost to the ceiling of this garage. I had to climb up a ladder to get to it. It was hidden and out of the way, because I was always scared that that person was going to come back and find me. one night I had a bunch of people over, and I converted my giant tall bed into several seating areas by taking mattresses down and whatnot. as I'm sitting there staring out the large garage door out onto the driveway while it's raining, a car pulls up, and I just had the worst fear that it was that person. it wasn't, it was one of my friend's friends, and so we're all sitting there talking. next thing I know, coming from inside the house out to the garage, was that person with masks. he came out, and that's when I woke up was when he was killing some of my friends. I couldn't leave or get away, but I woke up before I got killed or killed the intruder myself to stay safe and keep others safe as well. I hate dreams like this yet I have them frequently.

Julia, your dream weaves a complex tapestry of past, present, and internal fears, all threaded together in a vivid narrative. Let's delve into the significance of each part. Starting in a school setting, this reflects a return to a foundational period in your life, possibly symbolizing a time of learning or self-discovery. Schools often represent a search for knowledge, social dynamics, and personal growth. Your exploration into hidden areas like back rooms and basements suggests a subconscious journey into the unknown aspects of yourself, perhaps unearthing hidden fears or unresolved emotions. The discovery of masks and bloody jumpsuits in your dream could signify a confrontation with hidden identities or personas, either your own or those of people around you. Masks can symbolize the facades we wear in daily life, and their disturbing state in your dream may indicate a fear or mistrust of these false identities. The incident with the younger guy getting trapped and the disturbing noises you heard might suggest a fear of losing innocence or the vulnerability of someone close to you. It might also represent a part of yourself that feels trapped or endangered by external pressures or internal conflicts. Following this, your dream transitions into a future setting, where you find yourself living in a converted garage. This change in living space might symbolize a transition in your waking life, where you feel more exposed or vulnerable, as indicated by the open garage door covered only by a mosquito net. The elevated bed suggests a desire for safety and distance from perceived threats or anxieties, as well as a need to rise above your current circumstances. The gathering of friends in this space indicates a longing for community and support amidst your fears. However, the arrival of the masked person from your past dream scenario highlights persistent anxieties that continue to haunt you. This character's reappearance may symbolize unresolved issues that you fear will surface and disrupt your current state of mind. The fear of being found and the violence that ensues reflects a deep-seated anxiety about safety and control in your life. Finally, the inability to escape or protect your friends before waking up suggests feelings of powerlessness or an ongoing struggle to confront and resolve these inner conflicts. The recurrence of such dreams indicates that your subconscious is urging you to address these fears and anxieties directly. It's an opportunity to delve deeper into what these symbols represent for you personally and to work towards a resolution that brings peace to your waking life.
