Dream
I was visiting someone’s gorgeous mansion in the mountains. There were idyllic scenes everywhere—a pink-flowered tree planted by a river with a little bridge crossing over, the warm sun melting the sparkling icicles on another tree. All spotted through windows by me and a celebrity that I now can’t remember. White woman. Not Cameron Diaz or Amy Pond, but someone highly recognizable like that. She was obsessed with the bronze, strapped platform heels I had previously worn on a red carpet and I had to tell her that I wouldn’t give them away, but they were by such-and-such designer and she could get something similar, but mine were one-of-a-kind.
There was a huge gathering in an auditorium in honor of my fictional teacher/father figure. He looked like a blend between Dr. McCorvey and Bill Cosby. Everyone was celebrating his influence on the industry and I had just found out that he had been abusing teenagers and collaborating with crooked law enforcement officers to cover it up. I stood up on the seats on his row and stepped over people as I loudly shouted at him. I cursed him out as I approached him and once I got to him, I whispered in his and his wife’s earshot that I knew what he did and he was dead to me. Then I stormed out and went to rescue all the teens that were clearly still being held in the house. I worked with other adults to rescue, release, and reunite them with their families.
I changed into costume for an evening party. A few other young women and I traded makeup tips as we got ready. I was excited about a peacock feather themed mascara that I realized could lay a whole pattern across my face, iridescent feather colors, shapes and all. The girls were also delighted with me. I changed again into a “German baker’s wife” costume and was practicing my German accent as I walked downstairs. I noticed guests in the foyer. A few members of the Wayans family were visiting, wearing black winter coats as they lingered in the foyer. There was a sense of urgency in the air—a young person was on the floor and the Wayans were suddenly begging me for a phone to call 9-1-1. I ran back upstairs to the dressing room to grab my cell phone. I dialed as I ran back down, but someone was already on the phone with the police. Emergency services came to pick up the hurt person and all the rest of us piled into a van to go along to the hospital. I was seated next to Marlon, who made some flirty conversation with me and then kissed me by surprise. I turned him down as politely as I could and told him, “You’re very handsome, but I’m just getting out of something…” He was cool about it.
At some point, I found myself in a teen sports movie. We were trying to update this hockey-like game at a boarding school for mysteriously gifted kids. We used huge sheets of plexiglass to push the puck around on the ice. It felt like a Mighty Ducks movie where the players all feel discouraged before they figure out how to change their mindset and strategy. We knew we were onto something, but it was missing something to pull it all together. I either woke up or changed dreams before I saw that resolved.
