Dream
I see myself standing in a group of three or four men, military veterans like myself, in a class or training of some sort. I'm standing, one is standing, one is sitting in a chair at a desk and another is sitting cross-legged on the floor. We are all there to learn. The guys talk about a mission we're going on. For part of it we'll need to be underwater in a tight space underground. "It's a good thing I was an instructor for the water safety course back at OSD" says one of the guys. Turns out each of them has similar experience. I chime in,
"I was a water safety instructor, or WSI back in the day, my favorite part was going underwater and all that shit".
Suddenly we are on a rooftop, on the mission. It's night, A black helicopter hovers overhead -we are taking fire! I rush the target, a man in a tuxedo I presume we are rescuing or extracting, across the roof. "Do you have it?" I yell. He checks a device, similar to a smartphone. The helicopter is waiting for a confirmation code only he can give us before they'll pick us up. It's the entire reason for the mission. I look at his screen. I see a family photo of three people, he presses a button and their clothes turn baby blue. "baby blue!" He shouts.
Baby blue??!! I reply. "Code black" I reply into the radio. "They've been trying to tell you where to go! Baby blue means anchor in place, they're saying drop anchor. "
Just then the helicopter comes towards us but then opens fire. I rush to try to get the target out but it's too late. He gets killed. The last part of the scene repeats. "baby blue?!" And this time I take him off the rooftop but he gets killed around the next corner. No matter what I do the outcome is always the same - I loose and the target does.
Suddenly, I'm in a futuristic hospital bed of some kind. Outside my own body. I hear a voice. "He's been caught in a time loop for days, he's begging for death" I hear a nurse say.
