Dream About Graduation Hiking And Strange Encounters
Analyze my dream

This dream was about

I was at some sort of lecture hall which was pretty full and busy. It also looked like a concert hall, the kind I used to perform in for many years as a classical violinist. My sister Ruby (who used to be a singer) was discussing some music with me, and I recognized some music that started playing. I don’t know what it was now but I remember a few notes into the melody, identifying the key, which was Eb. In this space I was also planning for my graduation a year from now (it’s really two years from now), where I wanted to wear a beautiful gown which I didn’t have yet. I was planning a hike for my family to celebrate, and I was choosing a hike that had this path that split and re-combined over and over, enabling hikers to choose a smoother easier path or the harder one with a bit of rock climbing and grass. I was on the harder path briefly and it was sunny outside, the path was rocky and mossy but I could see the easier route and didn’t mind being on the slightly harder one. It was nice that the paths always reconnected at intervals so whether one took the easier or harder route, they ended up at the same place. Back at the lecture hall I went outside to a red-carpeted lobby and went down a few stairs. Trent, a classmate who I heard went to the ER yesterday, went up the stairs and through the glass doors into the lecture hall. I asked how she was doing but she ignored me and said something I didn’t understand, she waved me away. I kept watching her though and she came back out of the doors, resigned to talk to me. She seemed agitated and her face was very red in like a medical or rash way. She said “I lost a pet that was VERY important to me,” and then she made some other very definite points but I couldn’t hear her as other people walked nearby, talking loudly. (In real life Trent lost her pet cat of 18 years recently, but I don’t know what prompted Trent’s ER visit). I was just watching Trent’s face and trying to understand her, but also didn’t want to ask her to repeat herself because she was in pain and on edge. She finished talking and I thought to hug her but she held out her hand for shaking instead, and her hand had liver spots as if her hands were randomly super old. I didn’t understand her gesture at first so I shook her hand a bit late which annoyed her but she at least thanked me for listening. Next I was in a big random house and ordered food. I had been looking at renting out two units in this house, a sad grimy basement for 850/mo and the whole first floor unit for an unknown price. I’m not sure why I was doing this as I didn’t own the house, but I had lived in the grimy basement for a while and was now in a better cleaner space. Anyway I felt a bit off when I was up on the second floor and food would arrive soon. I suspected the delivery man would be bad news. I stood out of the front door’s line of sight, the front door being made of glass, and the delivery man looked like Michael Jackson and he put down the food and looked very closely around the door as if looking for a way in. He took out some fancy keys that worked like lockpicks and began opening my door. I texted 911 “man in house” and included info about his car, he was driving either a car that looked like mine (small and blue) or a small grey one. This stranger in the entryway morphed into someone else, a freckled ginger man who was mixed race but looked pretty white. I heard him picking around a bowl of coins so I jumped down towards the entryway and said “you taking my money?” We proceeded to have a stilted, antagonistic interaction but slowly understood each other. Some other people appeared on my porch, staring at us through the front door window, three people but I only saw a middle aged black woman with braids and a freckled white man with slicked back blonde hair and scars, bruising, and scabs over his dark blue eyes. He had high cheekbones and looked super scary and possibly on drugs. I figured these people were homeless and didn’t want them on my porch. “These are just neighborhood folks,” the ginger guy said. Without my asking that he tell them to leave, he said “I’ll do it” and opened the door a crack to tell them to go away. The guy with disturbing and exhausted eyes started murmuring at him but there was no telling what he was saying. He appeared to be needing something, probably a lot, but I didn’t want to help and was scared of him. The ginger man and I discussed being rejected by all kinds of people for being mixed race, particularly white people. We laughed about apologizing to white people about how white we looked, yet we weren't white. I sensed he was black and asked about it, he said yeah quickly because we undersrood each other easily.

Mercy, your dream is rich with symbolism and emotional undercurrents that reflect your personal journey and relationships. The dream begins in a lecture hall, a space filled with energy and activity, reminiscent of your past as a classical violinist. This setting suggests a longing for connection and perhaps a desire to share your own voice in a crowded world. The presence of your sister Ruby, discussing music with you, highlights familial bonds and shared passions. Music itself is a powerful symbol of expression and emotion, and your recognition of the melody and its key signifies clarity in understanding your feelings and your place in the world around you. As you transition to planning your graduation, you envision wearing a beautiful gown, which represents aspirations and the desire to celebrate milestones. However, the discrepancy in timing—planning for a graduation that's actually two years away—may indicate feelings of anticipation or anxiety about the future. In the context of your dream, the graduation could symbolize a significant personal achievement or transition, and your choice of a celebratory hike for your family reflects a desire for connection and shared experiences, perhaps even a longing for unity amid life's various paths. The hiking path in your dream, which splits and re-combines, serves as a metaphor for life's choices. The sun shining on you while navigating the rocky, mossy terrain suggests that while challenges may arise, there is beauty and warmth in the journey. Your comfort with the harder path, despite the easier option being visible, indicates resilience and a willingness to embrace complexity in your life. This duality of paths mirrors the decisions we face, where both easy and difficult choices ultimately lead to the same destination, emphasizing the importance of personal growth and the choices that shape our experiences. Next, your encounter with Trent adds a layer of emotional complexity. Her agitation and the visible signs of her distress, particularly regarding the loss of her pet, show your empathy and desire to connect with others in their moments of vulnerability. Your hesitance to push for clarity when she is in pain reflects your sensitivity and understanding, but also your own discomfort with emotional expression. The handshake instead of a hug signifies a boundary, possibly indicating your own struggles with intimacy and connection in moments of emotional turmoil. This interaction encapsulates the challenges of communication in relationships, especially when faced with grief and the urgency of understanding. Finally, the chaotic scene in the house with the delivery man morphing into a ginger guy introduces themes of trust and fear. Your instinct to hide from the delivery man suggests an underlying anxiety about vulnerability and the potential for harm, while the discussions with the ginger man about racial identity reveal layers of connection and camaraderie. This conversation signifies a shared understanding of being perceived differently by the world around you, illuminating the complexities of identity and acceptance. Your interactions reflect a desire for connection amidst fear, showcasing the intricacies of human relationships and the struggle for understanding in a world that often feels divisive. In essence, this dream encapsulates your journey through personal aspirations, familial ties, emotional connections, and the quest for identity in a multifaceted world.
