Dream About Dark Presence And Snake Bite
Analyze my dream

This dream was about

I was back in my childhood home in Kansas. I was as old as I am now and my mom and stepdad were there. I was in my room and I felt a dark presence behind the door. The room was super dark and I tried to turn on the lights but I couldn’t. I desperately tried going back and forth flipping the switch and pulling the chains on the fan. I even made sure the light bulbs were screwed in. The presence was angry that I was trying to turn on the lights and I saw a shadow move from behind the door towards me and I screamed for it to stop and started praying every prayer that I have. I told it to go away in the name of Jesus. It didn’t go away but it loomed over me. Then my mom came in and flipped the switch on the wall and the lights came on. The thing looming over me disappeared and she asked what I was doing and asked if I wanted to go to the store. I said sure whatever. So we went to the store and it was the one here where I live now in Missouri. (I guess my mind is combining places that make up “home”) so we’re at the store and we get bombarded with people trying to sell us flowers. One told my mom she would need them when she buried me. My mom and I both screamed “WHAT THE HELL! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU” but the guy shugs and reiterates that she will need them soon for my funeral as if it was a fact. We push past them and go to the store. My mom has me look at cheese and I stay there for a couple of seconds before she tells me she’s done shopping. I look in the cart and it’s full of bottles of alcohol. We head out of the store and go home parking the car on the edge of the patio back in Kansas. We started drinking and then apparently it was the next day at high noon. My mom and my stepdad were like “oh there you are” and my mom was like “you had fun last night”. I couldn’t remember any of it but she said it was cool and I was funny. I shrugged and was looking at the edge of the patio where the cars were parked while my parents were around the corner drinking and looking at the side garden. I was trying to see if you could fit a third car, my car, on the edge of the patio. I had gotten on my hands and knees when a diamond back rattle snake wraps itself around my arms and around my back. I try to stay still and I try to call for my parents who were just around the corner. They didn’t seem to hear me. I kept trying to get their attention and even screamed for them a couple of times. I tried to grab the snakes head and pull it off myself but it bit my finger and slid to the middle of my back where I couldn’t reach it. I tried grabbing its tail to pull it off but it bit me in the back twice. Only then when my parents were done looking at the side garden and discussing what they wanted to do with it did they notice the snake around me. My step dad tried to take it off me once and it ended up biting me again before he was finally able to get it off of me. My hand and back stated to throb and my finger was swelling. My parents were doddling around as if nothing happened and I urged them to take me to the hospital and only after me begging them to take me did my mom say “ok let’s go”. She didn’t take me very seriously. We get in the car and she takes me back to the Walmart. I try insisting more that she should take me to the hospital and she waves me off and tells me I’ll be fine. Meanwhile I start to feel sweaty and shaky and I follow her into the store. She was trying to find the guy who tried to sell us flowers for my funeral. I kept urging her to take me to the hospital when we find the guy and she stays disgusting prices with him. My vision is going in and out as I plead for her to take me to the hospital and then I wake up.

Christina, your dream is rich with symbols and emotions, indicating a complex interplay of your subconscious thoughts and feelings. Returning to your childhood home in Kansas while being your current age suggests a desire to reconcile past experiences with your present self. The presence of your mom and stepdad highlights family dynamics that may still influence you today. The dark presence in your room, and your inability to turn on the lights, represents feelings of being trapped or overwhelmed by unresolved issues or fears from your past. The act of desperately trying to turn on the lights but failing could symbolize your struggle to find clarity or control in certain aspects of your life. The shadow moving towards you and your subsequent prayers indicate a confrontation with something deeply unsettling, possibly repressed emotions or traumas. Your mom's ability to easily turn on the light and her casual offer to go to the store suggests that she may possess a sense of control or understanding that you feel you lack. Her role in dispelling the darkness might also reflect a desire for her support in dealing with your inner turmoil. The transition to the store, now located in Missouri, blends your past and present, creating a metaphorical space where unresolved issues from your childhood still affect your current life. The aggressive flower sellers, particularly the one predicting your funeral, could symbolize intrusive thoughts or external pressures that threaten your sense of security. Your and your mom's strong reaction to the flower seller indicates a shared shock or denial of these negative predictions. When your mom focuses on buying alcohol, it may suggest a coping mechanism for dealing with emotional stress or conflict. The return to the Kansas home and the disjointed memory of drinking imply a disconnection or avoidance of confronting deeper issues. The diamondback rattlesnake wrapping around you while you are on the patio is a powerful symbol of latent danger and anxiety. Your parents' initial unawareness and delayed response to your plight might reflect feelings of neglect or frustration with their perceived lack of support. Your struggle with the snake and the subsequent bites symbolize a confrontation with harmful or toxic elements in your life that you feel unequipped to handle alone. Your parents' casual attitude towards your injuries and your mom's reluctance to take you to the hospital underscores a feeling of not being taken seriously or a lack of urgency in addressing your needs. The return to Walmart and your mom's preoccupation with the flower seller, even as your condition worsens, reinforces a sense of neglect and frustration. Your fading vision and pleas for help signify a deep-seated need for recognition and assistance that you feel is being ignored. This dream suggests that you are grappling with significant unresolved issues from your past that continue to impact your present life. The recurring themes of neglect, lack of control, and unacknowledged distress point to a need for addressing these underlying emotions and seeking clarity and support in your waking life.
