Dream About An Old House Asylum
Analyze my dream

This dream was about

I just woke up from the strangest dream, which felt oddly familiar. It was really, really long, so I will just try and tell you what I can remember. I dreamed that I had found an old house, but it was more than an old house, it was like a huge, hmm, I don't know, I can't explain it, it was just, it was a huge old house. It was like a school, like a small community. I found it with some friends, I can't remember who, and we were looking through it, just trying to discover who had lived there and what was going on. I think I have dreamed this before. So, we went to investigate. We looked in all of the rooms, it was a huge house with lots of rooms, and what we discovered was that it had been like, kind of like an asylum, but for children who, I don't know, it just started out that it had been like a boarding school, and at first everything was fine, the kids were having a good time learning and creating and being together, and then over time something changed, and it became darker and darker. I think they were doing experiments on the children, but I don't know what kind of experiments, but there was a force, a force in the place, a supernatural force, and the children started making art that reflected the force. They started making things as an expression, but also as a warning to others, and the force looked like a giant, red and black, amorphous monster, so the children that, me and my friends that found this place, we, we were slowly discovering these things, and we wanted to tell others, but then it was like the house kind of decided no, that we, we shouldn't tell others, so we were trying to decide what to do, we, there was a large contingent of friends who were, who thought, let's just get out of here, while we can, and not take anything with us, because the fear was that if we took something, like clothing or toys or something, that it, that it would bring the negative spirits or energy with it into our lives, but I was in favor of bringing some things, I thought maybe, like, some of the clothing could be used, people who needed the clothing, and also, I felt like, once we left, that the place might disappear, and if we brought some things, it would be proof that it existed, and there was this giant bathtub, oddly, that became like a portal to somewhere else, and we turned on the water, we weren't sure what it was at first, other than a giant bathtub, we turned on the water, but it was all muddy, like the pipes were corroded, so the water, there was a lot of it, but it all came out muddy, and I don't know.

Melody, your dream presents a rich tapestry of symbolism and emotional undertones, beginning with the discovery of an old house that feels both familiar and enigmatic. The house, vast and reminiscent of a school or community, suggests a repository of past experiences or memories, perhaps representing your own life's journey or untapped potentials. The fact that you were with friends, albeit their identities remain unclear, indicates a shared exploration or quest for understanding, possibly reflecting your current life stage where companionship and shared experiences are valued, even if their exact nature is elusive. The transition from a boarding school for children to a darker asylum-like atmosphere signals a shift from innocence to complexity, mirroring life's inevitable progression from simplicity to the challenges of reality. This shift could be echoing your reflections on personal growth or past experiences that began with positive intentions but evolved into something more complex. The presence of a supernatural force within the dream, especially manifested as a red and black amorphous monster, suggests deep-seated anxieties or fears that might be influencing your current mindset. It could also represent societal pressures or a collective consciousness that you feel might be imposing on personal freedoms or the innocence of those around you. The children's art, both as an expression and a warning, highlights the power of creativity and expression in confronting and communicating with the less tangible aspects of our psyche. This aspect of your dream might be urging you to harness your creative energies as a way to process and articulate your own inner conflicts or societal observations. The notion of the house resisting the idea of sharing its secrets with the outside world implies an internal struggle between the desire to reveal and the instinct to protect or preserve. The debate among your dream friends about what to take from the house reveals a tension between preservation and liberation. Your inclination to take items as proof or for future utility signifies a desire to hold on to tangible memories or evidence of experiences, perhaps reflecting concerns about legacy or the impermanence of the present moment. The giant bathtub serving as a portal with its muddy water symbolizes unclear or obstructed pathways to transformation or new beginnings. The muddy water can be seen as representing unresolved emotions or thoughts that need purification before you can transition to a new phase. Overall, Melody, this dream encapsulates a journey through familiar yet evolving territories of your psyche, touching on themes of memory, creativity, fear, and transformation. It encourages you to delve deeper into the complexities of your own experiences, perhaps suggesting that embracing both the light and dark aspects of your journey will lead to a more profound understanding of your current life stage.
