Dream
Me, my husband , my 2 kids, my mother, and my best friend went to a hotel convention. We loaded up in separate vans. My mother and I were in a a van with 3 other men. On the way to the convention we all began to talk, md had a fun conversation. I started to realize that the man next to me was flirting. I told him that I’m flattered but I’m a married woman. He got upset and yelled, “why didn’t you tell me that earlier?” I told him there was no need to give that info if we are all just having an innocent conversation. I didn’t want to just push that I had a husband in the men’s face if they were not trying to pursue me. Now that I know you are trying to flirt with me I let you know. My ring was on the whole time. I never hid my hands or removed my ring. He was still upset and asked everyone in the car when a person should divulge if they are married. We debated on this topic until he fell silent. It was quiet and awkward the rest of the way to the convention. Once we got there me, my husband, and the kids met up. My mama disappeared. Kitare was there but went her own way. My family and I went into the hotel and were looking for directions to our room. We went up to a table and received a key card with our room number. I don’t remember the number. Paul grabbed our bags and my son to go put our things away. My daughter and I were together and went to a buffet table and made plates of food. A lady came up to us and said to take our food upstairs in the meeting room. We did that. We went in and put our food down and went back out to look for my husband and son. We saw them and waved them into the room. We had to take our shoes off and put them up on the shelves of the on the wall. We sat down, ate, and enjoyed the festivities. There was a time in the program were they called up kids to blow huge bubbles. Evan, my son was chosen to go up next. He went up there excited and then right before he got to blow the bubble a huge cake came out for another kid. It was the kid’s birthday. So the announcer told Evan maybe next time. We are bout to sing happy birthday to the birthday boy over there. My son was visibly disappointed and and it angered me. I stood up and said “NO, LET HIM BLOW THE BUBBLE FIRST! WHY WOULD YOU CALL HIM UP THERE JUST TO NOT LET HIM DO THE ACTIVITY?” They apologized and then went on to sing happy birthday to the other boy. I stood there fuming but eventually calmed down. The birthday boy was very happy and my son seemed to be over what had happened. After the festivities were over the room cleared out pretty quickly. There were so many shoes left on the wall but just me, my two kids, and Paul left. We went to look for our shoes in the place we put them. Paul and Evan found their shoes, but me and my daughter Niyah couldn’t find ours. The boys left to put some goodie bags in our room. Me and Niyah searched. While we were searching I saw my best friend Kitara searching for her shoes in one place. The shoes she was looking at looked the same but different variations of colors. I called out to her and said, “ hey girl you can’t find your shoes either?” She didn’t respond and kept looking intensely at the shoes in front of her. I moved on and saw some cute shoes for Niyah but they wer not hers. I told her we might as well grab whatever we like since someone took ours. We found some cute random shoes and a cute purse for Niyah. I callled out for Kitara again saying, “ girl I think people grabbed our shoes so just pick some and come on!.” She did not acknowledge me and kept looking at the shoes in that one spot. I told here me and Niyah are leaving to find our room. We left and ran into Paul and Evan. We went down a few stairs and saw a white woman and man in the corner at an information desk. There were talking amongst themselves. As we were about to approach the desk I woke up.
