Dream
I was riding through town with bad stomach pain. I was riding in the backseat of my dad’s truck with my dad driving and my estranged mother up front. My younger brothers were there and they were kids again. My mother was fussing at me about how I’m “making everyone late for my brother’s football game by being dramatic over period cramps”. They took me to a clinic and said “they did this because I’m pagan.” My mother told the front desk that because im pagan, they need to treat me as such and not try too hard to help me. I felt sad and helpless. I laid down and the doctor did an xray and an ultrasound and found out that my colon had burst open. The doctor said I was risking sepsis. I cried in pain and a nurse took me to a back hallway that led to a hospital hallway. My family stayed in the clinic and my estranged mother was angry we were missing the game. She took me to a room and told me I would be admitted. The room was dimly lit and my dad brought me my clothes and helped me unpack. A boy kept pacing in front of my door and talking, but I couldn’t figure out what he was saying. He was dressed very punk rock and had spiked black hair. He made me nervous and the nurse told him to stop bothering patients. I stepped out to go get a drink and the hallway was very cold and hazy. I walked through the hallways until suddenly I wasn’t the patient anymore. I was a visitor and looking for my youngest brother’s hospital room. I thought I was at the correct room and peaked in and it was the goth boy from before. His room was pitch black with red lighting and candles lit. I immediately backed away and apologized. Suddenly I was very scared and ran to the nearest nurses station to get directions. They told me which hallway to go down and I found the room, but Joey wasn’t there. Suddenly, I was the patient again and in immense pain. The nurse said they were getting ready for my surgery, but the surgeon was playing with kittens, so it would take time. The nurse told me she needed me to have an enema so I can have a colonoscopy. She drove me in a wheelchair to the imaging room and had me wait. She then said they would get me tomorrow. As she was taking me back to my room, I saw my kids playing in the lobby with arts and crafts. I went with my husband to clean up the mess, but the kids kept pulling out crayons. The nurses talked and laughed with us, but suddenly I was feeling better. Then I woke up.
