Dream Of Community And Identity

pages.dreamInterpretation.thisDreamWasAbout

I was walking around a beautiful, lush green landscape with some rocks and lakes and I wore a cozy dress and a big shawl. I saw over the hill many white people flowing out of a church. Some wore cowboy hats and they dressed like a variety of historical eras, some of them looked like colonizers or Mennonites. I stood a ways away, atop a hill and near a big tree, watching the white people flow out. They had just finished their service and I wondered if they would know I hadn’t been at their service, and didn’t belong to their church. At one point a Latina or swarthy woman passed me with her white husband, she was tall and heavy set with brown eyes brown hair, I felt at ease knowing there was at least one person of color around here. She believed as they did, was part of their church. I also remember singing to myself on this hill, or rather I was singing to nature and mountains, there was a distinct sense I was doing something indigenous. I also dreamed I learned about a Native man’s drum circle and singing traditions and I wanted to partake in that. I got to know a redhaired lesbian who was part of this white community (which in my head was Laporte, where I’ll be moving soon), and she posted a tiktok venting about her experience. I watched her video, her gripes with her church and how she felt about women. I felt solidarity as a bisexual and spent time with this woman face to face. I was in a room with her and a young conservative white man. He was open-minded but was certainly raised a certain way and was learning a lot from me and this redhead woman. He was handsome and youthful, younger than me and pretty intent on trying to understand and listen. He was sitting on a bed with his back to a baseboard, while the woman sat elsewhere, and I moved about, sometimes walking and lying down. At one point he said “as a conservative white man I agree” or something like that, it was something really important that he agreed to. So I was relieved, but I told him “you started off with conservative white man and let me tell you, [I got] full body sweats” and he laughed. He did listen to me though when I explained that being around people like him can be scary for me and I’m often uncomfortable and on edge because I don’t know if people like him will respect me or not. The redhead woman was witnessing this conversation, and with her I remember explaining queerness a bit to him at some point. I asked the man if he was a Sagittarius, which he said no. When I asked his sign, he told me he was a Virgo. I hummed and accepted this, saying they’re “thoughtful and meticulous.” I was prompting him to verify if those things sounded like him. He was listening to me closely throughout this dream. I woke up before he could state an opinion on my assessment of his being a Virgo.
