My boyfriend's friend, Apache Mike, and I worked at an information kiosk at target. This horrible, white mither-son duo came in asking if the lakota was a tribe. I said yes. Then we got to talking about dakota as well and i mentioned apache just to touch on the fact that there were many tribes. They were so ignorant. When mike came over he said they were soakin up all my energy. I introduced him as apache mike and the mother really overstepped her bounds and started trying to grab his arms like his tattoos made him a specimen. He wouldn't let her touch him. They finally left. I felt guilty for telling them he was apache and he made some comment about how horrible they were.
