Dream About Food And Celebrations

Had an interesting dream. It was as if I was an adult and a 9 or 10 year old at the same time. Two versions of me or me at two different ages and stages of my life were living or having the same experiences, simultaneously. We were back at my old house in Sumter. Someone had passed away and a few of my aunts came over to prepare a meal for the repast at my mom and dad’s house. The food looked really, really good! I remember walking over to the refrigerator and seeing so much good food inside the fridge, inside the freezer, and on the top of the fridge. My aunt Darlene said they didn’t have much time to prepare the food but to me, it still looked good. It was a beautiful day outside as well with the sun shining brightly. My Grandmother, who we call Mama, was there and so was Delvin, my mom, and my sister Calandra. I wanna say I ate some of the food but in dont quite recall. The house was of course clean. In the next part of the same dream, we had been invited to a housewarming or perhaps it was a graduation celebration. A young lady named Lisa invited the church family over for the festivities. She also had food and she was accepting donations or financial gifts. I found a quarter on the floor of her home and gave it to her. She was smiling and excited that everyone came. She took out some of the money she already collected & put the quarter with the rest of the money, but then she was a little disappointed. Lisa too had alot of food spread upon her tables but she told me that very few people were either eating the food or taking to-go plates. I encouraged her, letting her know that two events were taking place at the same (the repast and her graduation celebration) so perhaps some people were already full from eating at the repast. She understood but was still disappointed. I looked at all the food she had prepared. Rice, gravy, macaroni, sweet potatoes, chicken, and several other dessert items. She said she didn’t want the food to go to waste since she prepared so much. She also felt as if she would be losing money cuz not many people were taking the food. The truth was this: while the food looked really good, Lisa’s house wasn’t the tidiest. In fact, I recalled going to her house as a child (in the dream and real life) and the house had dirty carpets and clothes spread every where. The rooms were not kept up either. I recall my Grandmother encouraging her years prior to clean up. My Grandmother taught my mom who then taught and showed us as children how to clean. Although I encouraged Lisa, I couldn’t eat anything from her house either no matter how good the food looked.
