I was in college, and I was college-aged. I had gotten to college a few days late, and I did not know my schedule. I was looking all over campus for where to get my schedule. Finally, I was in the student union, and I was looking at a small book. Three college men came in, and one of them took my book from me. He did give it back after a few minutes. Then I had friends who were living in dormitories or apartments. I'm not sure which. One of my friends, a man, he had a very neat apartment on the end. He did not have many friends and didn't have any visitors except for me. While he was fine with me visiting, he wasn't happy about it. My other friend, also a college-aged man, had two apartments, one on each end. I was happy to have anyone visit. I was in my mom's living room, and we had some relatives there. I was looking at a Barbie doll. I decided to keep the Barbie doll and take it with me when we left. Before that, my mother was going to have to have surgery, and they were wondering how she was going to pay for it. She said, well, Lisa's got money. I did have $1,500, which would take care of the co-pay. We were all in the car, and I was in the back seat. We were going on the ride that is near and is alongside the mall.

Eilis, your dream intricately weaves together elements of personal exploration, relationship dynamics, and familial responsibilities. The college setting, where you find yourself as an age-appropriate student, signifies a return to a formative period in your life—a time of discovery and self-identity. Arriving late and without a schedule may mirror feelings of being unprepared or out of sync with your current path, suggesting a longing for structure or guidance as you navigate present challenges. The student union, a locus for community and interaction, symbolizes a quest for connection and belonging. The incident with the book, where it is temporarily taken by one of the three college men, reflects potential interruptions in your quest for clarity or personal boundaries. Yet, its return reinforces your resilience and ability to regain control over your knowledge and direction, even when external forces intervene. Your interactions with two distinct friends highlight contrasting approaches to solitude and social engagement. The friend with a tidy, solitary apartment embodies an inclination towards independence or reservation—perhaps aspects you see in yourself or those around you. On the other hand, the friend with dual apartments suggests an openness and abundance in managing relationships, offering a counterbalance and reminder of differing interpersonal dynamics. Transitioning to your mother's living room introduces themes of familial ties and responsibilities. The presence of relatives and the Barbie doll, an object often associated with childhood and innocence, may indicate reflections on your familial role and past. Deciding to keep the Barbie doll could symbolize holding onto cherished memories or aspects of your identity as you move forward. The discussion about your mother's surgery and the financial concerns brings to light feelings of duty and support within your family unit. Your willingness to contribute financially underscores a deep sense of care and responsibility. The final scene in the car, driving alongside a mall, perhaps signifies a journey through familiar landscapes of life, blending past experiences with current realities, and highlighting your evolving role within your family and personal life.
