Dream
I was on an island, in a house with my ex and his friend. The island was one of three, barely habitable and only one or two houses per island. This specific one only had our house. The land around these island were lavishly beautiful with rainbows and bright sun and glittery waters, with greek-style housing very close together. I personally didn't like that lifestyle, so I chose to stay at that house on the island with forests and dirt roads and rain, wild animals and few people. I was at the house, in the style of an old cabin, having a fun time with my ex, his friend, and his current girlfriend. I still had a pit in my stomach about what my ex had done to me and her, and it was growing rapidly, but I kept the conversation up to ease the thoughts. We were drinking beer (not my thing but in the dream I liked it) and having a laugh around a TV. Suddenly, the thoughts were too loud, and I stabbed my ex right in the chest. He slumped over dead right away. The other girl didn't look mortified at all, like she was experiencing the same thing, and suddenly stabbed the friend (which we were not on good terms with either). We maniacally laughed and danced around until we were pooped. I then took my truck and said I'll make a run to the store to grab more liquor (somehow trucks were able to make it to mainland without sinking, but my dream didn't show that part. I only saw me being on the island in the truck then I popped in at the liquor store). While at the store, on the TV, I saw SWAT footage of the police raiding the house with the girl still in there. I was thinking of calling her and telling her about the secret tunnel under the house. The tunnel led to deep underground mines at one point but at the main 'entrance' to it, had memories such as old paintings and statues, collectibles and jewelry, old record players, and very expensive vintage items. But as soon as I took out my phone to call her, SWAT busted down the front door. I couldn't see where she was or what was happening, as we were seeing helicopter footage, but by the audio, there was a tussle, then she got out on foot. She made it longer than I thought she would. She almost made it to the shed, which also had access to the tunnel, but that's when she got shot by the SWAT. At the end, the government said "that's too much to clean up" and instead of recovering the bodies and cleaning up the area, they just flooded the whole island and let it sink. Apparently the area was owned by the Chinese government, and their efforts aren't as "nice" as the US government (according to my dream). I saw my entire life just poof into nothingness, and at that point, I knew I couldn't live on the islands anymore, as it would haunt me if I did. So instead, I made living on the mainland. I hated it, and I hated the way the government just covered everything up and people kept calling me a conspiracy theorist for what ACTUALLY happened. I wondered how many others saw that TV that night, as if it was just only me. But still, my dream kept me living in the dusty white Greek housing for a while. Every once in a while I'd hear someone talk about it, I'd try to butt in with the truth, and they'd just politely laugh and walk away. I kept thinking of if the ghosts of the people who died that night were watching and haunting me, or if it was all in my head. I kept praying to an unknown diety hoping they'd moved on, but these thought kept me paranoid for a long while.
