This dream was about

Im on a trip of some kind with family members like cousins and an uncle I rarely see. It's a big trip to somewhere far and we end up in a place I felt was an Alaskan wilderness, though we were in a developed area. I looked out at the long road into the wild and thought to myself that you could just walk and keep walking way out into the wild forever. I didn't say it out loud because I didn't want anyone to worry that I would do that. Next we are at whoever's house where we'll be staying and there's a big backyard. I'm feeling relaxed, free, and I go outside by myself to where there's a hammock, table etc. I lay in the hammock just staring up at the sky, thinking and enjoying myself. I nap a little. I'm so unworried that I decide to pass time with an idle little project for myself with some popsicle-like sticks by stacking them. I figure I'll build something just for fun. I drop them and am gathering them up and start to vaguely think someone might be wondering where I am and worry if I'm out too much longer. On cue I hear my uncle call my name from the back door across the yard. I almost couldn't hear him because of some white noise I had in (in real life I had a sleep meditation playing while I fell asleep that was still on). I listened closely and heard him and said yes. He didn't say to come in but I felt it was implied so I get up and remember suddenly that my two kids are still sleeping out there. One wakes and I hug her warm body to mine. I want to just snuggle her for a while but feel increasingly like we should go back in. I set her down and pick up the younger one and say to them both let's go in I don't feel safe. I surprised myself by saying that because I had felt so safe before. We hustle to the door and my uncle welcomes us in and I tell him to close and lock it because I think there might a wolf or something. No sooner do I say that than I see a huge gray wolf walking slowly past where we just were at the edge of the yard with his eyes fixed on the house. He comes slowly toward the house and I tell my uncle to take the girls away so they don't see and get scared. He asks if I'm coming and I say no I think I need to see this. He asks if I'm sure and I say yes and usher them away quickly. The door and walls are all glass and as it gets closer it changes into a horrifying man with a glass eye, huge hands, crazy mangy hair and torn clothes. I'm horrified and we all start to try to find a ola ever run and hide but then I realize that in human form this thing might be able to get past the lock. Sure enough it starts to pick the lock and I'm screaming at my uncle to protect us somehow although if this guy gets in I don't think any of us would be ok. My uncle is watching and assessing while we hide as best we can begin him and a kitchen island. The werewolf talk warning us that whoever comes out he will get. We keep hiding and the werewolf struggles to pick the lock. I urge my uncle that it's just a matter of time and we have no way out. He had to act. My uncle was a police chief in real life. Me and both girls let our heads up a little too far into eyesight and the werewolf said that whoever came up next would get it. I tell my uncle we have to shoot and he does- he steps out into full view face to face across the glass with this thing and fires right into his chest. I see the blood firm in the chest but it doesn't drop him. He foresee few more times and as it starts roaring that he "sure did shoot him, this dead sheriff, right in the chest!" With a crazed look in his eyes I scream "headshot! Headshot!" But's too late because the clip is empty. There is a tiny pause as they both realize that. Horror registers on my uncles face and crazed glee on the werewolf's face. I wake up in terror

Your dream unfolds in a setting that seems familiar yet distant, as you embark on a trip with family members, including an uncle you rarely see. This suggests a desire for connection and perhaps a longing to reconnect with familial ties that may feel strained or neglected. The journey into what you perceive as the Alaskan wilderness signifies a quest for exploration, both externally in the world and internally within yourself. The imagery of a long road into the wild represents the possibilities and adventures that lie ahead, yet your internal dialogue reveals a sense of caution, indicating that while you are eager for discovery, there are parts of you that hold back from fully embracing the unknown, fearing the reactions of those around you. As you arrive at the house where you'll be staying, the backyard with its hammock symbolizes a sanctuary of peace and comfort. Feeling relaxed and free in this space, you indulge in moments of solitude and creativity, evidenced by your project with popsicle sticks. This reflects a childlike whimsy and the importance of play in your life, suggesting that you value the moments of leisure and introspection. However, as you gather the sticks, a flicker of concern emerges about being missed, indicating an underlying fear of abandonment or not being noticed, which contrasts sharply with the freedom you initially felt. The transition from tranquility to anxiety occurs swiftly when you hear your uncle call your name, and the emphasis on the white noise could symbolize the distractions that often cloud our awareness of ourselves and our surroundings. Your decision to bring your children inside, accompanied by feelings of unease about safety, points to a protective instinct that arises when faced with the unknown. This protective nature is commendable, yet it also reveals an internal conflict; you’ve felt safe, yet the emergence of fear suggests that there are deeper anxieties or unresolved issues lurking beneath the surface. The appearance of the wolf, a potent symbol of instinct and the primal aspects of self, morphing into a horrifying man, heightens the tension in your dream. This transformation could represent your fears manifesting in a tangible way, perhaps the anxieties you hold about threats to your family or your own vulnerabilities being exploited. The werewolf, embodying both animalistic and human traits, signifies the struggle between your instincts and societal norms. Your uncle's role as a police chief may illustrate your desire for protection and order, yet the situation spirals into chaos, suggesting that despite feeling secure in the presence of authority, there are still uncontrollable forces at play that can disrupt safety. The climax of the dream, where panic and urgency collide, casts a spotlight on your feelings of helplessness in the face of danger. The act of your uncle firing the gun and the subsequent realization of being out of ammunition symbolizes a loss of power and control. It reflects a fear that despite your best efforts to protect your loved ones, you may feel ill-equipped to handle the challenges that arise. The horror of the werewolf's glee in this moment of vulnerability suggests an internal struggle with your own fears and the unpredictability of life. Waking up in terror signifies the impact this dream has had on you, perhaps urging you to confront these underlying anxieties and explore ways to reclaim your sense of safety and control in both your waking life and your subconscious.
