Dream About Saving Monkeys
Analyze my dream

This dream was about

I went on this extravagant trip with my mom for her work. It was some desert Island with a huge resort; red giant stones covered in vines. Absolutely beautiful. One day I’m walking the island and I notice there’s a ruin tour so I decide to join that alone, we hike probably 2 miles off of the resort. As the tour guide is talking I notice and old man walk into one of the buildings. Which look the same as the resort big red blocks but instead of the cute vines this one is completely eaten by the life around it. As I follow the old man it looks like a building that was for tennis courts there’s probably five different courts on each side and the gates go all the way to the ceiling. I quickly realized after talking to the old man that he had dementia, he thought his match was starting soon so I gave him one of the old balls lying around and started to walk him back when I noticed monkeys crawling out of the dark greenery that covered half of the courts. As I’m looking around mortified I realize they’re all locked into the courts and they have no way out. Just then a tall younger man with dark hair who works at the resort comes in and helps me with the old man. I ask him what’s going on here, tell him we need to free these animals. He just says the owner wouldn’t like that. I keep looking around and I see this smaller monkey who has brown and tan fur not like the others. The others have big arms black and white fur, but the smaller monkey is skinny I can see the imprint of its rib cage, reaching out to me through the fence. I immediately go to open the fence and the worker grabs me by the arm and says no some of the monkeys have been dying from a disease and the disease can be transferred to humans. I asked if it was curable and he said yes but only if caught in time. I then asked if there was a medical staff on the island and his response was yes there’s a lab so I grabbed my cloth like scarf opened the gate and reached down for the monkey. I couldn’t leave her there she was starving and I would come back to free the other monkeys after I had gotten her help. As I reached down and wrapped her in my scarf it was big enough to cover her she reached back and clung to my side. It was clear the owner didn’t have any plans to administer the cure to these animals and they just locked up random monkeys none of them were sick none of them were foaming at the mouth, acting crazy, acting sick, they all looked healthy except for her. And these people just caged them??? There were two miles of desert in between the forest and the resort the monkeys wouldn’t get near people, I couldn’t understand it. So I walk out of the building and I see the group getting ready to head back so I join them, but I stay far enough behind them where if this monkey was sick she wouldn’t be infecting anyone but me. Plus no one could see her to then she just looked like I balled up my scarf and was carrying it. Again it’s a two mile walk back to through thw desert and there’s a little bit of wind so sand is blowing at us. I have my goggles but not my scarf so the sand is scratching my face. The tour guide radioed the resort to send cars but I insisted that I walk because I didn’t want anyone to risk getting sick. So I continued the walk, the wind started to pick up and the sand started to blow harder, I couldn’t see five feet infront of me but I could see the ground. When I look up to try to figure out where I’m going, I’m lost but I can’t quit. All of a sudden out of nowhere my hand slips into another hand and I look beside me, it’s the worker from before. “I almost didn’t find you come on let’s go” he said. I was so relieved. As we make it to the side of the resort we still have about 200 steps to climb so we start. We talked the entire time he was kind told me his name (Sam) about his family it was sweet and flirtatious. He said I was crazy for trying to save the monkey but the good kind of crazy that we needed more people like me in the world. That’s when the monkey started to slip out from under me. I quickly pull her up oh shit it wasn’t just starvation she had the disease. He looks and me and says, “ come on if we hurry we can still save her and get the shots ourselves.” We ran I mean I’ve never run as fast up stairs like that before. When we reach the side of the hotel, she’s okay just a little sweaty and fatigue but she’s still holding onto me so she’s okay. He goes to open the side gate it’s an archway with big privacy walls surrounding us so that’s the only way in on this side of the resort. But his key won’t work the gate doesn’t budge. Right then I’m not panicking because he can radio it in and someone will help us, but no only static on the other side of the radio no one’s picking up why, click, click, click…. Sounds of someone walking down the steps on the other side of the gate perfect!!! Click….click…click, they can help us. “Excuse me hello can you open the gate from the inside please” click. It’s the owner? Sam grabs my arms as I’m trying to tell the owner what’s going on,”please sir it’s only one shot and then I’ll release her it won’t take” and I’m turned around by Sam and we’re headed off in the other direction before I can stop him three people come from the bottom of the steps around the corner in white medical jumper suits and masks. “Please” I say again. “You must’ve brought the shots you knew we were coming you can save her” I carry her towards them in my arms she’s facing me though, clinging to me harder than before… I pull her into my chest. “wait what’s going..”. “No” the owner said. I turned and looked at him, what does he mean no? “The monkeys are a problem I can’t remodel the other side of the island with them here and I’ll be damned if you bring one into my resort”. But no he should save her, he can save her. “Leave the monkey girl put it down”. I look at Sam and he’s looking at the ground with a face of defeat. What the hell is going on here it’s not a tv show just when I go to pull my phone out and record this and show the world splatter all over my face and neck in my mouth, in my nose, my right ear. What the fuck I look down to my side it’s her she coughed up blood it’s coming out of her eyes and ears and mouth she’s dying in my arms. “NO” I scream “no, no, no, no, noooo, please, please no, please help us, please” I cried falling to my knees. Sam comes to my level on the ground and I start to beg all of them. “please don’t let her die …. please.” I don’t even look at him I just look at the owner and the lab rat workers. I’m still begging but quietly now.. I’m staring at her holding her and rocking her back and forth. That’s when they pulled me off of her, now I’m screaming again, watching as they take her and drag me off. This poor soul died so the owner could redo a building what the fuck is wrong with people. In the time they spent cornering us and threatening us they could’ve just gave her the shot. They take me to some building I can only assume is the lab and they put me in this chair. I lost her I don’t know where sam went. The bloods dried now it’s crusted over my face and lips. The workers still in their jumpsuits and masks stick a needle in my arm which I’m assuming is the cure. They wipe me down pour something mf in my mouth make me spit it out then take me to this shower room and make me wash off all the blood. I don’t though, I just sit on the floor of the shower staring at nothing. Ow, my arm was pinched I slowly turn and it’s one of the suit people. (I don’t want to call them doctors, doctors help the sick they don’t make diseases to kill animals) and I pass out. I wake up in my room dressed in clothes that aren’t mine. I just lay there looking out the double doors that lead tho the balcony. I roll over and there’s a knock at the door, “kristen it’s Sam I’m coming in”. He tries talking to me explaining that he had no idea he climbs into the bed and holds me apologizing for this place and the people he works for. I turned and asked, “ what about the other monkeys in those tennis courts, are they going to die too?” He doesn’t know he says, “We can go try to save them, steal some of the shots from the lab go give them to the monkeys and release them.” I look at him and the first feeling I’ve felt since she died was hope, I agree. As we’re getting ready and going over the plan how he’ll steal keys and the cart I’ll steal one of the other radios so we can hear what they’re planning since they’re probably watching us. It seems like a solid plan he reaches for the door then turns back around to me, “can I kiss you?”. I nod my head yes. He takes his hands and gently places them on my neck with his thumbs at my chin. He tilts my head up and leans over me staring at my lips, I never realized how much taller he was than me. Then he gently meets his lips with mine he slowly drags his hands down my shoulders to my back and pulls me into a hug. He turns around back to the door grabs my hand and as soon as I walk through the door I wake up.

Kristen, your dream is a rich tapestry of emotions, fears, and desires, woven together into a narrative that reveals much about your psyche. The extravagant trip with your mother to a desert island resort represents a longing for escape and perhaps a desire to connect with your familial roots in a beautiful, serene environment. This setting embodies both luxury and isolation, hinting at a conflict between the desire for comfort and the awareness of underlying issues, possibly relating to your relationship with your mother or your own personal journey. As you embark on the ruin tour alone, it suggests a quest for self-discovery. The old man you encounter, suffering from dementia, may symbolize a fear of losing touch with your own identity or the past. His confusion about the tennis match reflects a deeper concern about time slipping away and the fragility of memory. By helping him, you reveal your nurturing nature, a desire to care for others even when facing your own uncertainties. The monkeys represent innocence and the aspects of yourself that you feel are vulnerable or caged by societal expectations. Their confinement speaks to a sense of helplessness regarding creatures that, like you, deserve freedom and the right to thrive. When you focus on the smaller monkey, the one that is starving, it becomes a manifestation of your empathy and the urgent need to address suffering, both in yourself and in the world around you. This struggle to rescue the monkey mirrors your own battles with vulnerability and the feeling of being trapped by external forces, possibly hinting at issues within your personal or social life. Your interaction with the resort worker, Sam, introduces a layer of connection and attraction, symbolizing hope and the possibility of partnership in your endeavors. The flirtation serves as a respite from the chaos surrounding you, a brief moment of joy amidst the turmoil. However, this hope is soon overshadowed by the stark reality of the owner’s indifference to the suffering of the monkeys, which signifies your frustration with authority figures who prioritize profit over compassion. The struggle to save the monkey becomes a metaphor for your desire to fight against injustices, and when the monkey begins to die, it reflects a deep sense of loss and helplessness in the face of systemic cruelty. The climax of your dream, where the blood and injury of the monkey serve as a stark reminder of the consequences of neglect, reveals your fears about failure and the implications of not being able to protect what you hold dear. When you wake up in the unfamiliar clothes and face the reality of your situation, it underscores a feeling of disconnection or alienation. However, the conversation with Sam in your room brings a flicker of hope and a sense of agency as you plan to save the other monkeys. The kiss symbolizes an intimate connection that transcends the chaos, suggesting that amidst your struggles, you can find solace and strength in relationships. This dream encapsulates a profound journey through your emotions, desires, and the complexities of love, empathy, and resistance against the odds.
