This dream was about

My family and I had moved to a small home or town house that had its own washer and dryer. My mother and I walked out into the backyard to scope it out and we loved how spacious it was. As I was trying to get my mom’s attention to tell her something, my mom ended up being in the backyard two houses down. As I was catching up to her, I briefly looked into the houses that I passed—I noticed the windows were open because I could here Spanish music playing clearly but there were no lights on so I couldn’t see inside. Once I caught up to my mother, we were standing in the backyard, four houses down—there were no fences seperating them. We couldn’t go to the fifth house because there was a small canal stopping us, so we just looked over—it was a beautiful country home with a big backyard. After admiring it, what looked like a big bear appeared to be under attack by a big group of smaller animals. Most of these animals were cats—there were at least 20—and I watched more of them running to the scene to help attack the “bear”. Some of these animals were half cat half rabbit and many different sorts of breeds. Some of the cats were full bred but bi color—literally half of their body was one color and the other half of their body was another color. One of these cats looked like a cat that used to belong to me before he went missing—he was a tuxedo cat named Mistoffelees. I studied him, and once he noticed me, he gracefully ran around the canal to meet me where I was standing (I didn’t realize that he had been missing in my real life; I usually always realize this phenomenon). But before he was able to reach me, but dog Jasper came up from behind me and started to attack him (Jasper was my dog that died in my real life; I didn’t realize this phenomenon either). I called out to my mother to help me separate them, and I ended up bearhugging Jasper which seemed to calm him down as he started whimpering and licking my forehead–I ended up kissing his chest to reciprocate his love. My mother finally was able to wrap up Mistoffelees in a blue towel–he was soaking wet from being attacked by Jasper. She decided to hand him over to me to hold, but once she did Jasper grabbed him again. All of a sudden I lost my strength and could swoop him back into my arms until finally I did—I ran back to our house with him where he could be safe. I remember laying him down on his back—the towel disappeared—and I watch him stretch his upper right arm up toward the ceiling with his right leg following the movement but stop. He was alive and not showing any signs of pain but he just stayed in that position. It was odd but nothing strange.

Arianna, your dream presents a vivid exploration of familial bonds and personal reflections, wrapped in a narrative that is both familiar and surreal. The act of moving to a new home, complete with a washer and dryer, symbolizes a new phase or fresh start in your life. This could represent an aspect of your current reality where you're seeking or experiencing change, perhaps in your living situation or personal growth. The presence of your mother as you explore this new space indicates a desire for familial support and guidance as you navigate these changes. The spacious backyard you both admire signifies the potential for expansion and freedom in your life, yet the moment when your mother moves further away, to a backyard two houses down, might reflect a feeling of distance or disconnection with her, whether emotionally or physically. This could symbolize a part of your life where you feel you are trying to communicate or connect, but there's a gap you are striving to bridge. The open windows with Spanish music playing, yet no visible light, might hint at cultural or familial roots that remain influential in your life, even if they are not always at the forefront of your daily consciousness. The appearance of the bear under attack by smaller animals, primarily cats, suggests an internal struggle or conflict. The bear, often a symbol of strength and protection, could represent a part of yourself or a situation you perceive as powerful, yet being overwhelmed by numerous smaller challenges or emotions, depicted by the diverse group of cats. The various breeds and appearances of the cats, including those that are half cat and half rabbit, introduce the idea of diversity in the challenges you face – some may be familiar, others completely new and unexpected. Mistoffelees, the tuxedo cat that you recognize from your past, symbolizes a connection to something or someone important that you feel has been lost. This reunion, even in a dream, suggests a deep-seated yearning to reconnect with aspects of your past that brought you comfort or joy. The unexpected presence of Jasper, your deceased dog, attacking Mistoffelees, might symbolize unresolved grief or the complex interplay of past memories with current emotional states. Your bearhug to Jasper and the subsequent calming effect signifies your ability to manage and soothe emotional turmoil, highlighting your strength in the face of distress. Finally, the scene where you protect Mistoffelees and bring him to safety is a powerful metaphor for your desire to safeguard cherished memories or relationships. His stretching arm and leg, while peculiar, could symbolize reaching out toward something greater or an aspiration you're working toward, suspended in a state of potential. This dream encapsulates themes of change, connection, and the balancing act between past and present, urging you to reflect on the intersections between these elements in your waking life.
