Dream About Hiking With Dogs

My family and I go on a hike in the United States but it’s getting dark. It’s beautiful and we are climbing these rock formations and my dad goes on a different, easier one closer to the exit and stays behind us but my Mom and i rock climb up this flat wall with rock bits. i say I’ve done it before but not up, just going down. going up i comment on how it’s actually quite difficult going up, you get a better grip on the rocks but there’s a risk of falling backwards so far down and it’s actually scary going up this tall wall but we both do it. i see my dad on his own path while climbing up and call out to him to make sure he’s paying attention and not falling asleep as he seems distracted, he pulls a face. It starts to get dark very quickly once my mom and i make it up the wall to the top of the mountain/hill. we are walking and realize we need to rush back down before it gets too dark because there are animals in the nature. we rush to hop down to the exit on the other side, we jump layers of white marked natural steps. it’s very dark now. suddenly, we hear an animal coming and it sniffs us. my mom warns of bears. we both pause, frozen. it sniffs us and my motion or animal detector on my glasses says it’s a coyote. i say to my mom it’s a coyote and shouldn’t harm us and move immediately walking. it’s pitch black and my mom calls out “no! you don’t know if it’ll bite you” i walk a little forward and reach the light and the coyote is by my legs but he looks just like a golden retriever dog, his mouth open, breathing. i move him by the snout and maneuver his head around to find his collar, expecting his name. im happy to find he’s just a dog and his name is Buddy! “and his name is buddy! of course it is” i exclaim. we keep walking with buddy down these now hallways of rock wall surrounding us, meaning we are now close to the exit and find another little dog, a pug. his collar says something about being a grandpa. i pick him up and he pees everywhere but it’s okay because it’s mostly not on me. my mom and i rush out of there to the exit where we see two women talking one of them is a park ranger i think. so despite the fact that we rushed to safety, maybe we were safer than we thought all along. but thank god we made it out. “did somebody need dogs??” i say. the woman is ecstatic to get her pug back. “is it? aww my little buddy” she says as i hand him to her. we relax in the safety of making it out.
