Dream About Floods In New House

I was living at a big fancy new house and there is a flood on the way. It was a strange flood because this house was in Colorado at high elevation at the top of a hill or mountain. The house was under construction and the doors and windows still had company stickers and logos on them. I had married an unknown man of royal descent, and it was a big deal that we were going to produce an heir that was royal through him and descended from slaves through me. This was a powerful thing. I remember spending a little time with the man and looking at him adoringly inside the house briefly but he was talking to others and we didn’t really interact. I was looking at myself looking at him adoringly, I almost went cross-eyed, so I was outside my body. Much of the dream was preparing for an onslaught of water or a big storm, and that part wasn’t scary. The scary part was being in a fancy new house sometimes with lots of people, a diverse group of adults older than me, and other times being alone. When I had the other adults around the dream reminded me of spending time at my grandparents’ house, which was very fancy and uncomfortable and not somewhere I could ever relax. I enjoyed my time there but it was always stiff and formal. When these other adults were around I felt younger, and I remember lying on a bed with these other people and wanting to hold hands and have deep but light conversation as we waited for everything to flood. I remember a black woman who seemed like family decorating a room for me, and it looked very juvenile but I loved it, it had pink netting everywhere with gold stars and childlike furniture. I also twice went into offices where men helped me file something related to the house or did some sort of mandatory work, and one of them was going to leave his job right after on account of the flood, so he happily left as soon as I said I didn’t need anything else, when I changed my mind and asked for something he said sorry I’m leaving and not doing anything else, and gave me a honey stick and left. This happened in a set of temporary offices and cubicles inside a big room inside the house. I went back to awaiting the flood. The view outside the windows were of construction equipment, dirt piles, and work on other big new houses. There was not really a sense of nature except for one adult, a middle-aged Japanese man, showing me some plants atop a hill and how you can trigger those plants to defend themselves. If you cut their leaves a certain way, the plant unsheathes small knives or needles and a casual touch to its leaves, he demonstrated, will cut you. He showed the small amount of blood on his hand to the group he was educating on this, including me. In the distance as we were atop a hill with low afternoon sun and some plants, big crashing waves were fast approaching. This was the storm and I saw it approaching a couple different times in the dream. The storm never quite hit in the dream, but one time I was in the back of someone else’s car and I saw droplets finally hitting the windshield, and at other points driving around the wind was so intense it made cars drive sideways. One had a black family and another had a Latino family, and they did their best to maneuver in such winds. Towards the end of the dream I saw two greasy haired homeless men near my house, and as I was outside my own house I was watching them, they were acting normal but I was afraid they were going to try to get into my house, and if I went in it would show them someone was living there. But, if they thought no one was there, they might try to break in. I imagined myself going in and pointing a gun their way and waiting for them to find me, and they’d see the gun and stop snooping around or in my house. Around this time I woke up, I especially remember the impending flood, being around unfamiliar adults and myself being younger but of unknown age, and seeing new doors and windows on a huge brand new house and how everything was under construction and still had logos and labels on it.
