I don’t have a ton of context but I just know this dream had to do with myself, my little sister, and my mom. I was likely a teenager in this dream. We were doing things around the house and at some point, I called my mom Massa. Like how the enslaved people referred to their masters which really upset my mom and she asked what we wanted from her. Which I don’t think I really even gave her much a response to. I felt it was pointless. But my little sister repeated a bit of my response to our mom after I walked away. She said, “yeah, we don’t want to be treated like slaves.” My mom didn’t take kindly to that. She told my little sister to shut up. At some point, my mom was eating wingstop and she let my little sister and I have some. But then a thin bone got stuck in my throat and I couldn’t get it out no matter how much I coughed or tried to pull it out. I woke up thinking there was a bone in my throat for real.

Aliyah, your dream is rich with layers of emotion and symbolism, and it's fascinating to delve into its depths. The presence of your family members, particularly your mother and little sister, suggests themes of family dynamics and authority. Your dream places you back in your teenage years, a time often filled with a search for independence and identity. This setting could reflect a subconscious exploration of past interactions and the evolution of your familial relationships. Calling your mother 'Massa' is a poignant symbol. It might represent a feeling of being controlled or restricted, possibly echoing teenage struggles with authority. The term is laden with historical weight, suggesting a deep-seated feeling of being overpowered or underappreciated. Your mother's upset reaction indicates a potential fear of losing respect or control, mirroring the complex dance of power and care in family relationships. Your sister's echoing of your sentiment underscores a shared perspective or solidarity between siblings. Her statement, "yeah, we don’t want to be treated like slaves," could indicate a mutual desire for autonomy and fairness within the family unit. Your mother's harsh response to her might reflect an underlying tension or fear of rebellion from her children, highlighting the difficulty in balancing nurturing with authority. The Wingstop scene shifts the dynamic slightly, introducing themes of sharing and nourishment. Allowing you and your sister to partake in the meal might symbolize a moment of familial unity or the sharing of resources and love.
