Dream About Exes And Reunions 3
Analyze my dream

This dream was about

I texted my ex who I dated for 3.5 years but broke up with over a year and a half ago. I said I hoped he was doing well and then I either said I miss knowing how his life is going or I said I was just curious what’s been happing in his life since we broke up. Jeremy(my ex) responded that him and Emily(his new girlfriend) appreciated me reaching out and asking and that things have been good. The next thing I remember is being on a run and ending up in someone’s yard. They had leftover haloween candy so I grabbed a couple pieces, then I saw another thing of candy but it seemed new and I wasn’t sure if I could take any. The person who lived there appeared and I asked if I could take a piece and they said no because it’s for an event. We then talked a bit and I think they recognized me from town because of my parents and the people I went to school with, also because they were close to my exes family and remembered me dating him. After that I was my exes brother come in (I got kind of happy because he’s really sweet and I used to love saying hi to him) and then my exes parent came in to (I had a mix of emotions because they used to be like my second family and were always so nice to me and I miss talking to them but I was scared they may not like me now after my ex and I broke up especially because I haven’t talked to them since then), then my ex and his new girlfriend came in and i immediately turned the other way because I was scared to make eye contact with any of them. I knew they saw that I was there but I didn’t want to acknowledge them because I was scared of how they would react. Even though the text before seemed positive I thought people would get mad at me for being there. The person who lived there turned to me and comforted me and said they understood how hard it must be and felt bad about the situation so they brought me inside away from everyone else and into a room with her husband to explain the situation. I can’t remember what exactly happened next but I think my exes family was in the house and I ended up leaving but we didn’t really acknowledge each other. Then I wandered town for some reason and there were lots of people around, and I was thinking how I needed to do more in life and experience more things, I was some event at a church and almost went but ended up deciding not to. It said it was especially for younger people (like 16-22 or something, or 16-19). I remember thinking that could be perfect because I was also 19, except I’m not 19 anymore, I’m currently 21 in real life. I wandered the street a little more then went home. I realized I had an event to get to, it was a cross country skiing banquet ( it was for my highschool team I was on even though I’m a senior in college now in real life). I went to the place and it was a super fancy restaurant and I remember not being ready for it, I had to shower and brush my hair even tho I was in the parking lot. I got out of the car and went somewhere to do that but I don’t know where, I went back to my car and I got a ticket because apparently I parked in the one spot in the parking lot that was for deliveries and had a sign saying there was a $50 fine if you park there and aren’t delivering something. I was running late for the event and still felt not prepared and ended up just giving up and not going because I may have been a little late and may not be dressed up enough. Then I got sad that I wasn’t there because I was a senior and wouldn’t ever have a banquet again and I just chose to skip it for no good reason. I then ended up with everyone somehow in a building/on the property directly next door to the restaurant. People didn’t seem too concerned that I skipped, one or two asked but I just brushed it off and gave some excuse and they were just like oh ya ok. Then everyone sort of chilled and went back and forth between inside and outside and I sort of just sat there

Julia, your dream presents a deep tapestry of emotions and unresolved connections from your past, particularly centered around your long-term relationship with your ex, Jeremy. The act of texting your ex, even in a dream, signifies a lingering curiosity about his life and a reflection of your own journey since the breakup. This curiosity might not necessarily indicate a desire to rekindle anything but rather a natural human tendency to wonder about people who have played significant roles in our lives. The encounter with Jeremy and his new girlfriend, Emily, in the dream suggests a confrontation with acceptance. Their cordial response to your message indicates a part of you that seeks closure and peace with the situation. Yet, the subsequent run and ending up in someone else's yard, where you find candy but face limitations, symbolizes a journey of self-discovery and the boundaries you encounter in trying to reclaim parts of your past or explore new territories. Meeting the residents of the house, who know you through your past relationships, brings forth the theme of identity and societal perceptions. It highlights the intertwined connections between your past and present self—how you are still recognized and perhaps defined by past associations. This resonates with the complex emotions you feel upon seeing your ex's family, who once felt like a second family but now represent a chapter that's closed yet still dear to you. Your hesitation to engage with them underscores a fear of judgment or rejection, a common emotional barrier when revisiting past relationships. Your dream's latter part, wandering through town and contemplating life experiences, speaks volumes about your current life stage. The church event, although not attended, represents opportunities you perceive as missed or untapped. The age reference, being 19 but now 21, symbolizes a reflection on growth, changes, and perhaps a longing for the simplicity of earlier years. It's a poignant reminder of the inevitable passage of time and the self-imposed pressures to achieve certain milestones. Finally, the cross-country skiing banquet scene encapsulates feelings of unpreparedness and regret for not seizing an opportunity. This scenario mirrors real-life anxieties about missing out or not being adequately prepared for life's events, especially as you transition from college to adulthood. The parking ticket and the decision to skip the banquet reflect a fear of failure and the self-critical voice that often accompanies it. Yet, the dream closes with a sense of acceptance from others, suggesting that perhaps your fears are more internal than external.
