Dream About Abandoned House And Dead Dogs

pages.dreamInterpretation.thisDreamWasAbout

This dream was me, my parents, and my niece all visiting a seemingly abandoned house. Everything about it was falling apart, it was a dark blue and green. Half the stairway leading up to the porch was caved in. The porch had holes in it that were haphazardly covered with plywood. Driving up to it, the neighborhood surrounding it was very nice. This house was small and cottage-like, but all the others seemed new and large. The doors on the house were slightly popped open, clearly unlocked. There was a "for sale" sign in the yard, the address 3303 Farmers Ln or smth like that. Going inside everything seemed normal almost, just quiet and abandoned. It erred on eerie rather than an outright nightmare. As we explore the house, I go down a hallway in the downstairs section, there's a door leading to a room that still looks lit up with light. Poking my head in, I'm not sure what I'm seeing. It's a room full of toys and trash, covering most of the floor. But in the middle from what I can make out is 2 or 3 dead dogs on the ground. I remember a German shepherd, maybe 2. Though I saw no blood, my first thought was that they were shot, with no doubt that it had been on purpose. I stood there but couldn't process what I was looking at, so I backed away and made it towards the stairs where my mother and niece went. Going upstairs I found my mother and explained the dogs downstairs, she said that she had seen them, and believed that someone drowned them. Looking around, we found another dog, this one alive and sitting in a room with a crate. It looked like a black German Shepard, and he was very excited to see us. He did not look unhealthy or uncared for. That was more unnerving, though. Someone had been in this house, and recently, the other dog's death looked fresh and not decomposed in the slightest. We went into another room, seemingly a child's bedroom. It was abandoned as the rest of the house, but me, my mother, and niece found items we thought to take back with us. I don't remember what they got, but I picked up a black bracelet, a black coin purse, and a few books. I can't remember all the books, but I recognized all the covers. The last one I picked up before we made our way out was "Little Women." All the books, and the room in general, seemed to be for a young girl.

Alex, your dream presents a rich tapestry of symbols and emotions that seem to delve deep into your psyche. The setting of an abandoned house is particularly significant, as it often represents the self or aspects of your life that feel neglected or forgotten. This house, with its dark blue and green hues, may reflect feelings of sadness or a sense of being trapped in a space that no longer serves you. The fact that it's situated in a neighborhood filled with larger, newer homes could symbolize feelings of inadequacy or a desire for growth that you perceive others have achieved, but you may feel left behind in some way. The caved-in stairway and the haphazardly covered porch suggest instability and a precarious situation in your life. You may feel that certain foundations in your life are crumbling, implying a need to reassess your environment or relationships. The open doors, inviting yet eerie, hint at opportunities that are available to you, perhaps ones you are hesitant to explore. The 'for sale' sign can symbolize transitions or changes—perhaps even a desire to move on from certain aspects of your life that no longer resonate with who you are. When you ventured inside, the quiet and abandoned atmosphere could indicate a part of you that feels isolated or neglected, as if you are searching for something that seems just out of reach. The room full of toys and trash, juxtaposed with the dead dogs, creates a chilling image. It suggests that while there is innocence and playfulness (represented by the toys), there’s also a stark reality of loss and trauma (the dead dogs). This part of the dream could indicate unresolved feelings or memories that you are wrestling with, perhaps involving themes of loss or betrayal that are hard to process. The alive black German shepherd represents hope amid despair. Its excitement to see you could symbolize a part of yourself that is yearning for connection, vitality, and perhaps a reminder that there is still life and joy to be found, even in scary or overwhelming circumstances. This dog may also serve as a guardian figure, encouraging you to confront your fears and move forward despite the past's shadows. Finally, the items you collected from the child's bedroom—particularly the black bracelet and the book 'Little Women'—speak volumes about your identity and personal history. The black bracelet might symbolize a connection to something more profound or a protective charm against the fears you face. The choice of 'Little Women' could reflect a longing for familial bonds, sisterhood, or perhaps your own journey into adulthood and the complexities that come with it.
