I Dreamt Of Grandmother Waking Me Up But Realizing I Was Still Asleep

I thought I heard my grandmother called me and tell me it was time to get up, but I realized I was half asleep and hearing things. Then I dreamt that she did wake me up and I was engaging with her. I noticed that I was still asleep or half asleep because there were things I was seeing that I knew were wrong -- like a very easy game of what's different in this picture. Grams asked what was wrong and I told her I wasn't fully awake and I was seeing things. I started describing what I was seeing that I knew was wrong. The backyard was flooded -- it was the width of the creek when flooded but it started at the closest edge of the creek and ran alongside the sidewalk. And in between the two Rose of Sharron bushes there was a Japanese Maple tree of equal size. She kept interrupting me, telling me that what I was seeing wasn't right and that I knew that -- at one point she told me to just look and I'd be able to see that what I was seeing wasn't really there. I looked at her and said that she wasn't listening to me, that I knew it wasn't right, but she wasn't listening. I walked off towards the bathroom to start getting ready for the day very upset.

Kaitlyn, your dream seems to be deeply rooted in your subconscious mind, representing a blend of your inner thoughts and emotions. The presence of your grandmother, especially in a nurturing role, might signify your longing for guidance or the comfort she once provided. Hearing her call you to wake up, even in a half-asleep state, suggests that there's a part of you seeking awareness or a wake-up call in your waking life. The surreal elements, like the flooded backyard and the Japanese Maple tree between the Rose of Sharon bushes, indicate that your mind is grappling with changes or situations that don't quite fit your expectations or reality. Water in dreams often symbolizes emotions, and a flood could imply that you are feeling overwhelmed by your current emotional state. The incongruity of the trees suggests that there are aspects of your life that feel out of place or mismatched, perhaps pointing to a situation or relationship that doesn't align with your true self. Your grandmother's insistence that what you are seeing isn't right, and your frustration that she isn't listening, can be interpreted as a conflict between your conscious recognition of something being wrong and the external pressures or voices telling you to ignore your intuition. This might reflect a real-life scenario where you feel misunderstood or not heard, causing you distress.
