This policy explains what personal information the Lucidory: Dream Journal iOS app (“Lucidory”, “the App”) collects, why, and what we do with it. Lucidory is a dream journal: you write the dreams you remember, mark the lucid ones, notice the signs that return and keep a daily reality check. The App is published by DreamApp Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 12692529, with its registered office at 17 Kings Gardens, Walton-on-Thames, KT12 2DW, United Kingdom (“DreamApp”, “we”, “us”).
This policy covers Lucidory only. DreamApp’s own app and website have their own privacy notice.
What you give us. This is the first name you give us, your onboarding answers, the dreams you write, the signs and lucid marks you add, your answers to the follow-up questions, your reality-check log and the messages you send to Nyx. If you choose to, you can also give us an email address so we can send you a few short letters. Email is optional and you can skip it.
What the App records automatically.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data or advertising identifier.
We rely on contract (to provide the App and any subscription you buy), legitimate interests (to keep the App working, secure and improving), consent (for optional email and notifications, which you can withdraw at any time) and legal obligation (for records we must keep).
We share information only with the service providers that run the App for us, under written contracts that limit their use of it to providing their service:
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Inc. | App Store, subscriptions, notifications, crash reports | United States |
| Google Cloud (Google LLC) | Hosts our servers and the backup of your entries | Belgium (europe-west1) |
| Anthropic PBC | Writes Nyx’s chat replies | United States |
| Hume AI, Inc. | Reads Nyx’s replies aloud when you tap Listen | United States |
| PostHog Inc. | Anonymous usage analytics | United States |
| Resend, Inc. | Sends the optional letters, only if you gave us an email | United States |
Anthropic processes chat messages under terms that do not allow it to use them to train its models. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Some providers are in the United States. Where your information leaves the UK or EEA, we rely on approved safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to receive it in a portable format, or to restrict or object to how we use it. UK users can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); EU users to their local data protection authority. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against; we do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines it.
To use any of these rights, write to support@dreamapp.io.
Lucidory is not directed at children under 13 (16 in some EU countries), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has used the App, write to us and we will delete their information.
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access to our servers is limited, and each app has its own credentials. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the App.
