I had a dream that I was the apprentice of an eccentric man. The old man had some guests over and he was doing a performance and showing them his tricks and talents. The guests were less than amused, so they were heading out for the night and that's when the old man said, “well that's a shame you don't get to see my cool inventions.” The guest were intrigued and asked him to elaborate and he said “ I have a time machine, do you want to see it?” The guests were not convinced so they said “sure, show us.” The old man walked them to the time machine and he explained, “this is my time machine do any of you guys want to give it a whirl?” One of the guests stepped up, a little bit skeptical but he agreed. So the old man told him to put his thumbprint on the thumbpad for scanning, and then he configured the machine to go back to the year 1980. A black hole formed inside the machine and they went straight through it, and suddenly they were in the year 1980 and the old man was ecstatic! He was so looking forward to not having access to his cell phone or the internet , and was eager to get relive the 80’s again. And that's when he told the guest, “well looks like we get to be here for the next 20 years!” and the guest was shocked he responded “what do you mean by 20 years? We’re going to miss so much time!” The old man explained “well yes and no, every minute that passes in our time is one year in this time, so we will go back at when it feels like it's the year 2000 for us but only 20 minutes will have passed in our time. It will be a blip for our folks back home.” And the guest was speechless, he was not aware he was gonna be time traveling for that long. But the old man had already moved on and he was excitedly making plans to hit up an old arcade. Meanwhile, as the apprentice, I was tasked with carefully looking at my clock and keeping track of when 20 minutes passed by so in case they did not come back automatically, I would be on standby and I could bring them back in time.
